Students at Wellington Public School have continuously been supported by women in the community, which is why they wanted to say thanks during International Women's Day.

Each morning the local Red Cross ladies help with the school's breakfast club program, which is a special start to the day for many of the students.
Several local women also come to the school and listen to students read on a weekly basis.
The students not only enjoy reading to an adult, but have developed a connection with and respect for these special women.
It is for this reason that students at Wellington Public School took the time in their day last week to recognise a woman from the community who is special to them.
Students acknowledged teachers, teacher's aides, Red Cross and reading helpers and also women from Barnados, WINS, WACHS and the Ear Bus who support them and make a difference to their lives at school and at home.
A school spokesperson said it was also lovely to see the names of women who work in supermarkets, sporting committees and the mothers of students who have made an impact on the children's lives.
"With so many examples of wonderful local women who make a difference in a child's life, we had to show the community of Wellington," the spokesperson said.
"You can see these in the window of the old Elders building on the main street of Wellington."
