Dogs in all shapes, sizes and pedigrees descended on Wellington over the weekend to be judged in various competitions for the 'Wello Internationals' dog show.

Hosted by the Wellington Valley Kennel Club from October 18 to 20, three global judges from Brazil, Sweden and the Philippines gave their expertise opinions in the various events.
This was Brazillian judge, Daniel Rubio's first time judging the Wello Internationals and he said the show was fantastic.
"When you have an excellent dog the quality in the show is perfect," he said.
Mr Rubio added that it was great to see so many handlers and their families at Wellington with different breeds.
Handler Serena Neil came all the way from Newcastle to attend the prestigious competition. Her dog, 18-month-old Jorja, is a Samoyed and was judged in the All Breeds section.

Sharon Lowe, from Bathurst has been to previous Wello Internationals and this year took seven-year-old Kichi, a Japanese Akita breed to the event to be judged in the neuter class.
Rebecca Pandelis from Windsor came with her dog AJ, who was judged in the Intermediate dog class.
She said the competition was a great way to be judged by international experts.
"It's also good to come up and see friends," Ms Pandelis added.
On the Friday, Paul Middketon and Janelle Sylvestran, from Sydney, won with their Irish Setter breed Fantango Red Bull in the open section.
The following day, Michelle Lincoln from Yass won with her Bearded Collie in the Junior dog section.
Then on Sunday, Ms K Pinker, from Sydney won the Japanese Spitz.
