Staff at Wellington's St Vincent de Paul shop are tired of people going through the store's bins and leaving a trail of rubbish in their wake.

The local store has lost four red bins over two years because people have taken and gone them, store president Peter Duffy said.
"What's in those bins is just rubbish, but they go through it, throw the bins and throw the rubbish all over the place," he said. "It's getting too much, this is happening too often."
Once a week staff from Wellington St Vincent de Paul Society put three red bins out to be collected. And about every two to three months, someone goes through them.

The store president has since stopped putting the red bins out to hopefully deter people. The last time a bin had its contents taken out was just a couple of weeks ago, Mr Duffy said.
He added that they would appreciate people not leaving donations out the front of the Wellington shop, but rather bring them in during the store's opening times.
The Wellington shop is open Monday to Friday between 9am and 3:30pm.
A clothing charity bin will soon be in place at the local shop.
