Approximately 30 businesses have signed up to the 'Buy Local or Bye Local' program.
Anyone who purchases $20 or more in one transaction in participating stores between September 30 to November 7 November will go in the draw to win one of ten $500 shopping cards.
The winning cards are eligible for redemption in any participating shop in Wellington, further details are available at myDubboRegion.com.au.
The program comes at a much needed time when it has been revealed that Wellington has suffered a blow to its economy, with a fall of 6.2 per cent in overall consumer spend, over a 12 month period.

Jess Gough, Secretary of the Wellington Business Chamber, put forth the campaign idea to Dubbo Regional Council to encourage residents to shop locally and hopefully allow more shops to open.
To join the campaign go to the Wellington Visitor Information Centre, or Jespresso, and ask for a MyDubbo Region shopping card.
Ms Gough's business, JesPresso, is also a load-up point for the card.
The Wellington Golf Club have signed up to be a part of the campaign and representative Marie Fornish was at the launch to show her support.

Ms Fornish said people can use the card for any purchase at the Club or even to play golf.
"There's a lot of businesses that have come on board, so make sure you do buy local," she added.
Dubbo Regional Mayor Ben Shields was at the launch of the campaign and said the program would help keep locals employed.
"More than 2500 people are employed in retail across the council area. By shopping local, you are supporting locals by contributing to wages, helping keep local businesses in the region," Clr Shields said.
