Australian-American actress Betty Bobbitt has died at the age of 81 after a major stroke.

Bobbitt, who was best known for her roles as Judy Bryant in Prisoner, as well as in the Crocodile Dundee franchise, spent a week in palliative care before passing away on Monday.
Her eldest son, Chris, shared the news on his mother's Facebook page:
"Sadly Mum passed away this morning at 10:20am after 5 nights in hospital. She was peaceful and in no pain. Thank you for your support..."
Earlier in the week he had shared the news with Bobbitt's followers that she had a stroke.
"Mum had a massive stroke on Wednesday night and is now in palliative care in hospital. She is not expected to recover.
"We are hugely devastated and struggling to come to terms with such a sudden event.
"My mum has been a legend, an inspiration, a mentor and icon for so many. She is comfortable and not in any pain that we can tell, but the prognosis is not good. She is not expected to recover."
Bobbitt was born in New York and moved to Australia at age 23.
She starred in A Country Practice, All Saints and Blue Heelers.
