The annual event attracts people from all over the region to display their vintage vehicles and check out the range of items to be swapped.

It is being organised by the Rotary Club of Wellington and member Emily Falson said the event has been a part of the community for decades.

"We're on track, preparations are going really well with that," she said.

Organisers are expecting thousands of people to attend the two day event which will run between Saturday, February 29 and Sunday, March 1.

"Some people we might only see once a year for the Vintage Fair because they might be a steam engine enthusiast or they like to swap old bits and pieces," Ms Falson explained.

"You don't have to be a car enthusiast, if you're a collector.... the swappers have got it all. It's like an amazing Aladdin's Cave of second-hand collectables."

The first day will include the popular street parade where vintage cars, tractors, steam engines, bikes and more will travel along the town's main street from 10am.

This year's theme will be 'Anything Goes'.

Something new this year will be a vintage car observational rally to be held after the parade.

While it is free for people to enter, organisers are asking those interested in participating to donate a gold coin.

Participants will go on a marked 100 kilometre route to Yeoval and back.

Ms Falson said it will be a lovely way for those who are new to the region to see the area.

The second day will focus on the Swap Meet at the Wellington Showgrounds from 8am to 3pm, which Ms Falson said is the biggest event of its kind west of the Blue Mountains.

"All the swappers come along and swap everything from pots and pans through to bumper bars. Everything you can imagine," she said.

"They come from all over the state..."

As well as the vintage vehicles on display there will be plenty of entertainment for the whole family to enjoy, including a tractor pull, music, market and food stalls plus a pie eating competition.

Paul Kirk is coming back with his educational snake show, which Ms Falson said was worth checking out because people always learn a thing or two.

Infigen Energy are sponsoring the popular Tractor Pull, which Ms Falson said brings in the tractor fanatics

"I had never seen one before until last year but it was a lot of fun," she said.

"And this year, which is really exciting, is the Junior Tractor Pull.

"So the kids can have a go as well, which I think is fantastic."
