She made the Australian citizenship pledge at the ceremony among her friends, neighbours, husband and family. Dubbo Regional Council mayor Ben Shields said the citizenship ceremony marks a special moment for those becoming Australian citizens.
"I would like to congratulate you on your decision to become an Australian citizen. Making the Australian citizenship pledge is the final step in becoming an Australian citizen," he said. "I know this is a very special day for you."
Originally from Malaysia, Agnes has lived in town for five years and came to Wellington for love.
Agnes said Wellington is a "really nice place with really nice people."
"I love it, it's a small town but all the people are lovely and I love it," she said.
She was presented with flowers and a special goodie bag gift.
