Jo Ivey was able to capture some images of huge rain clouds that threw her into darkness.
While more rain is needed, Mrs Ivey said about 25 millimetres fell at Mt Arthur Way, which was a great start.
Abbey Lousick also sent in some images that were taken at Ponto Falls, Maryvale.
"It's incredible to think our beautiful country can have so much going on at the one time - drought, fire, dust storms and thunder storms. What an amazing place we live in," she said.
"The dust storm was closely followed by a huge thunder storm which brought the rain."
Krystal Castle said 39mm of rain was recorded in her rain gauge from Thursday night.
While Angela Parker received 28mm and 32mm for Naomi Jeffery.

Wild weather also swept through most parts of the region on Thursday afternoon.
A severe weather warning was issued around 1pm and the winds and rain started soon after.
Parkes recorded the heaviest rainfalls with 35.8 millimetres recorded since 9am on Thursday, while wind gusts reached a peak of 93km/h at 4.26pm.
Orange received 19.4mm of rain with wind speeds up to 48km/h, while Forbes had 14.0mm of rain and wind gusts recorded at 80km/h at 3pm.
Showers and thunderstorms are possible for the region through until Monday.
