The local swimming club is getting back into lessons this season since the newly revamped Wellington Aquatic Leisure Centre reopened to the public in November.
In order for the $8.35 million upgrades to occur the pool had to temporarily close for just over a year.
Wellington Swimming Club committee member Pip Smith said before the new pool was built they had one of the largest registration numbers west of Sydney.
"We had high registration about 200 members and because the pool shut for a year you don't register but they're slowly climbing again," she said.
"Hopefully with the new pool we can encourage new members...."
The Wellington Swimming Club, which celebrated 100 years in 2018, meet every Friday at 6pm and Mrs Smith said it was a real family event, with some competitive swimming.

Every participant swims freestyle with one off-stroke each week.
"We really encourage it, just to teach kids how to swim and how to be safe in water," Mrs Smith said.
"There have been a few hiccups... but we're getting there and just need everyone to be patient while we iron it all out and hopefully next season we will be right on top of it."
Mrs Smith said everyone at the Wellington Swimming Club were so pleased to have such a beautiful aquatic centre for the town.
She thanked the pool staff and Dubbo Regional Council for all of their ongoing help.
There are a number of events planned over the coming months for the Wellington Swimming Club, including the Dr Nat Barton Memorial swim carnival on Sunday, February 16.
Entries to the carnival will close on Monday, February 10.
Mrs Smith said she expects the popular carnival to be well attended by swimmers across the region thanks to the new upgrades at the pool.
