The industrial block is at 20 Amaroo Drive.
Dubbo Regional mayor Ben Shields said the parcel of land was no longer needed by council. However, he said it could turn into an employment generator.
"This parcel of land, which is owned by the council, is sitting there effectively doing nothing, just waiting for someone to come along, give council the right price for it and do something fantastic for the Wellington community," Cr Shields said.
"I'm more interested in not necessarily making a buck for council, but I'm interested in getting something actually happening in that portion of land that council does not need or use."

The mayor said with a bit of imagination there were a range of possibilities for the block of land.
Cr Shields said if an ingenious business person came along and did something fantastic with the block there was an opportunity for something great to happen.
"We know wellington is crying out for jobs and this is a fantastic opportunity to help bring jobs to Wellington," he said.
Dubbo Regional councillor David Grant said he fully supported the idea.
"Anything that can help the economic development of Wellington is certainly welcome," Cr Grant said.
He encouraged council staff to look into creative methods to advertise the block of land.
