CatholicCare Wilcannia-Forbes are the Facilitating Partner of Communities for Children and have organised the event.

Angry will talk about the importance of men in the family at the Wellington Soldier's Memorial Club on September 4 from 10:30am to 12:30pm.

CFC is a federally funded initiative from the Department of Social Services and are funded to deliver community projects for children in Wellington, Dubbo and Narromine.

Diane Tierney CatholicCare's CFC Project Manager, conducted community consultations to track how CfC was going and one of the things revealed in the survey was people felt men were not included enough in local programs.

Upon reflection on how to address that issue, Ms Tierney came up with the idea to have a motivational speaker come and talk about the importance of men in the family and thought Angry Anderson would be a great person to have.

She thought it was important for someone outside of the community to come in and speak about their family's life and the positive role they play and that Angry would be a great person to deliver that message.

"I would like men to feel confident and to better understand how important they are for their families," Ms Tierney explained.

Ms Tierney is delighted to be able to welcome Angry Anderson to Wellington to speak about his very important topic.

For those wishing to attend the event need to call the CatholicCare office on 6883 4600, for catering purposes, as light refreshments will be provided.

This is a free event and those who decide to attend on the day are welcome, but organisers urge people to pre-register.
