Preparation of the site has begun in advance of the expected construction date which is due to begin within the next few weeks.

Currently, Dubbo Regional Council estimate that the construction project will take 42 weeks to complete.
The Wellington Caves are not anticipating that the construction will have any impact on tours or operations at the current kiosk and the barbecue area will still be available for use throughout construction.
Workers have dismantled the playground as part of the preparation and Caves staff are urging visitors to use the Japanese gardens for picnics and play.
The nearly $3.8 million project was funded last year through the state government's Stronger Communities grant.
