Wellington Golf Club saw 39 golfers take on the heat last Saturday with some teeing off early, but some did tough it out in the afternoon heat. There was 2 visitors, Rob Williams from Narromine and Peter Bell from Duntry League with all playing in a 4BBB Stableford plus round 8 of the Kierles Pharmacy summer competition.

This Saturday's events are the February Monthly Medal with the Wellington Soldiers Memorial Club the kind sponsor of the day plus round 9 of the Kierles Pharmacy summer competition as well as the Neil Hollow putting competition.
Pennants kick tee off this Sunday with Wellington taking on Duntry League at Dubbo in all divisions.
Last Saturday's winners were David East and Ashley Bullock who combined brilliantly to finish with 47pts.
Runners-up and on a countback were Malcolm Payne-and Rod Pedron who put together a good round of golf and they finished with 44pts.
Ball competition winners were, David East-Ashley Bullock 47pts, Malcolm Payne-Rod Pedron 44pts, Lewis McCarthy-David Naveau
44pts, Elton Keeffe-Mitchell Spradbrow, Reid Armstrong-Mac Harvey, Tim Parker-Peter Mason all with 43pts.
Stubberfield Toyota terrific tee shot on the 3rd went it to Lewis McCarthy 4.2mts, on the 8th it went to Errol Flood 1.39mts, on the 14th it went to David Naveau 3.5mts, on the 16th it went to Josh Bullock 4.4mts.
Gersbach's Mechanical nearest the pin in 2 shots on the 17th hole went to Lewis McCarthy.
McDonald's biggest whack in A grade went to David East and in B grade it went to Paul Hannelly and doesn't he look good for it.

Raffle winner was John Donnelly and the lucky schooner winner was Mac Harvey.
Thursdays Twilight golf competition was round 16 played last Thursday with 31 golfers, [thats there oppion]hit the course. Ben Turner won the round with a 29nett on a count back from Mitchell Spradbrow.
The birdie hole was won with Peter Mason claiming a birdie to win the prize of 14 social drinks last week, so this week it's back to 2, raffle winner was Mr lucky himself Tim Parker.
Best 7 round leaders at this stage of the competition sees Coug Cowan still leading on -17, Russell Gersbach is next -13, Rod Pedron and Malcolm Payne -12.

Due to the extreme heat there has been no bowls for the last two Wednesdays. It is hoped that the weather will improve and bowls will be held today. Names in by 1.00pm with a 1.30pm start. Phone 6845 1973

An in house Pennant Trial will be held on Saturday February 2 commencing at 11am. SWIMMING
Wellington Diggers
Fourteen Members participated in last weeks weekly swim at the Geurie pool on Tuesday January 22 the Captain’s Birthday. Aaron Edwards took out the 25 meters event being 0.29 outside his nominated time. While Peter Ryan took out the 50-metre event being spot on his nominated time. Mason Hill won both the Junior Events. Nick Knowles & Peter Ryan combined to win the Brace Relay being 0.38 outside their time.
Swimming continues at the Geurie Pool each week commencing at 6.30pm sharp. We ask that members make an effort to be early to prevent us running overtime for the time allocated.
New Members are welcome with the proviso that they are members of the Wellington Soldiers Memorial Club and for Juniors to compete a family member must also compete on the night. The 2019 Western District AIF Championships will be held in Condobolin on Sunday 10 February 2019. Cost for this trip is $60 per person and was required to be paid by Tuesday January 15.
The 2019 National AIF Championships will be held in Victoria on Saturday March 2. Nominations close February 4.
