As of 7.30am the Bureau of Meteorology had not issued an official warning, but the forecast indicated wild weather for the Central West and large parts of the state.
The bureau’s forecast graphic shows that the Central West sits squarely in a north-south running band of NSW which is categorised as “severe thunderstorms likely”.
Weatherzone’s seven-day forecast points to “a thunderstorm likely, particularly in the afternoon and evening, when storms may also be severe”.
There is also an 80 per cent chance of at least 20 millimetres of rain falling in many parts of the Central West along with strong winds.
