Amnesty – Food for Fines
Macquarie Regional Library is giving members the opportunity to clear unpaid fines for overdue items by donating food to assist people in need across the region.
From December 1-31, the library will waive overdue fines on items that have already been returned, in exchange for non-perishable food item donations, including packaged and canned goods. Donations will also be welcome from people who would simply like to give to a good cause. Members can also return their overdue books, magazines, audiobooks, CD’s and DVD’s to any branch of Macquarie Regional Library, and no overdue fines will apply – even if it has been years!
The Food for Fines amnesty will run for the whole month of December, so drop in to give your library card a fresh start. For more information visit www.mrl.nsw.gov.au or contact Wellington Library on 6840 1780.
