With Dubbo Regional Council covering such a wide area communication is critical. That is why I try to spend as much time as possible visiting Wellington and all of the surrounding villages.

Since becoming Mayor I have encouraged open channels of communication, and urged people to get in touch with myself or Council staff when they have problems that Council can assist with.
One of the opportunities for the Wellington community to talk to Councillors and staff is coming up soon, with the informal meet and greet to be held on Monday, December 3 at the Wellington Council Chamber.
This is a fantastic way for people to come along and talk about any issues they might be having or any questions they would like answered.
I will be available for one-on-one discussions, or you have the opportunity to talk to a number of Councillors at once. Staff including the CEO and directors will also be available.
If you have been thinking about contacting Council on any issue, this is a great way for you to do it. We will follow up any enquiries you have.
Unlike traditional council meetings, which only allow a short time for the public to address us on topics related to that meeting and with no feedback or reply, this informal session will be the place to discuss any issue.
In addition, over the next few weeks I will be holding a series of Meet the Mayor events, starting with Geurie, Wongarbon and Wellington.
Geurie’s Meet the Mayor event will be at the Mitchell Inn from 4-7pm on Thursday, November 22 and Wongarbon’s is at the Ploughman’s Rest Tavern from 4-7pm on Tuesday, November 27.
On November 28 I will be at Wellington’s Cactus Cafe from 10am-12pm for anyone who would like to come and see me.
