At Dubbo last Thursday 3850 cattle penned in the prime section although large numbers of store conditioned young cattle and plain cows were yarded.

Trade young cattle lost five cents, light feeder steers and heifers fell seven to 12 cents, however the heavy end gained two to six cents. Feeder steers sold from 238 to 313 cents while feeder heifers ranged from 196 to 282 cents per kg.
Restocker young cattle were down by 35 cents and more in places with young steers trading from 130 to 298 and young heifers realising 80 to 210 cents per kg.
The few heavy steers were firm, heavy heifers were ten cents cheaper, light and medium cows improved three to four cents with the better finished heavy end gained ten to 16 cents.
Quotations calves 128 to 170, steer vealers 130 to 289, heifer vealers 80 to 248, steer yearlings 147 to 313, heifer yearlings 120 to 282, heavy steers 180 to 310, bullocks 250 to 291, heavy heifers 129 to 268, light cows 50 to 214, medium cows 74 to 218, heavy cows 163 to 264, bulls 130 to 265.
No store cattle sales on last Friday in the central west region. Dubbo on Monday 12,330 lambs penned in a very plain yarding with the majority consisting of light weight lambs lacking finish.
A few pens of well finished new season lambs were present, however very few trade or heavy old lambs were penned. Processor light lambs lost $12, trade weight new season lambs were firm to $6 cheaper. Trade weight old lambs fell $14 to $17, heavy lambs were limited and were $5 cheaper.
Merino lambs were down $14 with trade lambs selling from $110 to $144, restocker lambs were firm with the better types ranging from $98 to $130, restocker Merino lambs rose selling from $33 to $100. Hoggets topped at $179.

9,250 mutton penned in a mostly plain quality yarding where Merino sheep fell $5 to $10 and crossbreds were up to $25 cheaper. Quotations light ewes $8 to $89, medium ewes $72 to $130, heavy ewes $115 to $168, light wethers $12 to $86, medium wethers $116 to $122, heavy wethers $148 to $170, rams $35 to $151, ram lambs $115 to $195.
Schute Bell report that last weeks wool market opened softer from the outset, all micron categories registered losses on the first day of sales leaving the Norther region indicator down 18 cents. Broader cross-bred types and Merino cardings suffered some of the larger falls. Very little change occurred on the final day except for the 21 micron indicator shedding 20 cents which dragged this region indicator down another four cents to lose 22 cents for the week and close at 2140 cents per kg clean.
