The team won eight straight games at Dubbo on Thursday, most in commanding fashion, to take out the title and their effort was enough to bring tears to the eyes of their normally stoic coach Alistaire Thompson.
Thompson said he couldn’t believe how well his young team played, as they beat Dunedoo 7-0 in the final to emphasise their dominance.
“Words cannot describe how proud I am of this team. They have set their goals and worked hard for everything,” the coach said.
“They are a very positive group with some superstars but they play as one, no one is bigger than team and they all support and respect one another.
“I couldn't ask for anything more. Bring on state!”

St Mary’s was a well-oiled machine in attack and defense, scoring 57 tries for the day and only having five scored against them.
In the round games they defeated Dunedoo, St Johns Dubbo, Dubbo Christian School, Parkes High and Dubbo South.
In the quarter final they defeated St Matthews Mudgee then had a much closer contest against Red Bed Forbes, eventually prevailing 5-3.
Then in the grand final the girls were ruthless against Dunedoo. Thompson said his team looked as fresh as they did in their first game, despite a full day of football.
They kept their opponents scoreless while running in seven tries of their own in the one-sided contest.
The victory booked St Mary’s place in the state championships at Sydney in November. Thompson said his players would train hard to be ready for the competition.
Four St Mary’s players were also recently chosen for the Polding team.
