The purpose of the road closure, which is located between Cobbora Road and Goolma Road, is to enable the creation of a securable parcel of land where a solar farm will be established.
The total length of road to be closed 403 metres with a corridor width of 20 metres. It was determined the closure would have no affect on any residents or council.
“Council has considered the impacts this closure may have on local property but it is believed that all impacts will be relevant to the applicant only and no third parties will be affected,” Dubbo mayor Ben Shields said.

“We are supportive of the solar farm industry to our region and given the road is unformed and utilised only by the applicant, Council consents to the application to close the road.”
Council’s formal support is required before an application to close a road can be submitted to the Minister for Lands for approval.
Councillors voted in favour of the closure on Tuesday night.
