A 59-year-old man has been charged with drug and firearm offences following the execution of a search warrant a home in Wellington on Wednesday.

About 1.30pm on May 23 officers from Orana Mid-Western Police District executed a search warrant at a home on Barton Street, Wellington.
During the search officers allegedly located a .22 calibre bolt-action rifle, along with more than 3kg of cannabis leaf and three well-established cannabis plants.
The man was arrested at the scene and taken to Wellington Police Station where he was charged with possess prohibited drug, possess unauthorised firearm, possess ammunition without holding a licence, cultivate prohibited plant<=small quantity and supply cannabis >indictable quantity and < commercial quantity.
He was given conditional bail and will appear in Wellington Local Court on June 19, 2018.
