Junior Rugby Union Report
The Wellington Redbacks started their 2018 season with all of our teams home at Montefiores against Dubbo Reds, the intense heat was a telling factor for all players but did not detract from the quality of the games. Our under 13s were unstopable complety dominating their opponents the 13s have a stack of talent and plenty of numbers which should make for a very competitive season. Dillon White and Cam Whale who both played their first game of rugby deserve special mention for the fantastic effort they turned in on the day. Final Score Well 56 Dubbo 5.

Our under 15s this season will play as the Red Boars after it was decided to merg with Parkes as both towns were struggling to field a side, this now gives them a squad of twenty players which will ensure that they are able to compete throughout the season. It proved to be a pretty tough start to the year but considering half our players had only met each other an hour before kick off we were absolutly stoked with the effort they put in leaving us confident they will win there fair share of games. Red Boars 15, Dubbo 52
The heat dial had really turned up by the time the 17s ran on but boths sides seemed to cope well and stuck it to each other for the entire match. The two teams stayed neck and neck right until the final whistle Wellington held a 7 to 5 lead at half time but Dubbo hit back after the break, Ethan Styles then bagged his second try which was converted, when Allan Riley added a penalty shot soon after it looked as though the Redbacks would go on with it but a very persistant Dubbo kept knocking on the door and were rewarded with a converted try after the bell to give them a 17 all draw.
