Seniors: Saturday was the Final of the Wellington T20 Competition with the Dubbo Ducks and Dubbo Peckers competing in the main final, whilst Federal and Geurie featured in the Consolation Final.
Ducks proved too good for the Peckers and a great game with John Colwell still showing he is a master batter along with his counter-part Michael Kempston – funny how the older players still have all the strokes without the fan fair of reverse sweeps and in-side out shots. Geurie’s two weeks off didn’t help them with the young Federal team outclassing them on the day.
Thank you to all the teams – Ducks, Peckers, Farmers, Redfern’s, Federal, Geurie, Ballbusters and Cowboys (who had to withdraw half way through) for playing in this competition.
All teams please note there will be a Meeting called in the not too distant future to discuss next seasons format and any new ideas, so all planning can be done In the winter.
Juniors: The 12As entered the Dubbo and District Junior Semi-finals in second place and were unfortunately out played on Saturday but fought back well in the field on Sunday. RSL Colts scored 190 runs with Wellington needing to chase the 120 runs in their second innings to secure victory.
A huge thank you to Rob Dimmick and his team of helpers plus Steve Kiss and Bryan Johnson who took the youngsters for training most Fridays. Hope to see all our Juniors from Milo through to the players who played with Dubbo teams and their parents at the Pool Sunday afternoon from 1pm to wrap up the season.
School Cricket: Congratulations to the WPS Boys team who won their first game at Pioneer on Friday – sorry don’t have any scores for publication Today the WHS Boys play in their first round of the Alan Davidson 2018-2019 season also at Pioneer – play well. Last week the WHS Junior team enjoyed a day in Dubbo in the Western area Round Robin T20 Competition.
