The development application (DA) was approved subject to two extra conditions, according to director of community and recreation Murray Wood.
The project will now include a turning circle at the rear of the small car park in Bell Park to allow for smoother maneuvering by vehicles, and the second being further assessment of hazardous trees.
“There wasn’t anything substantial that means we have to alter documentation so we’re preparing to go out to public tender [this] week which will close on April 10,” Mr Wood said. “The idea being that toward the back end of April we appoint a successful tender for detail design.”
Mr Wood said by approving the DA the JRPP acknowledged council’s efforts in responding to concerns raised by the community.
The project is planned to be complete by October 2019.
