In early November I went down to Dubbo’s Lady Cutler Ovals to announce that $60,000 in funding was being provided to Dubbo & District Football Association for improvements to amenities at Dubbo’s soccer grounds.

That funding came from the Asian Cup Legacy fund, the good news is that the second round is now open with a pot of over $4 million available for football clubs across the state.
I encourage all football clubs in the Dubbo electorate who have projects in mind to apply.
We know that improving local sports infrastructure helps build stronger communities and improves participation amongst children and adults alike.
The $4.1 million NSW Asian Cup Legacy Fund is a joint initiative of the NSW Government, Football NSW and Northern NSW Football. Sixteen clubs successfully applied for $1.8 million in grants during the first round of 2016/17 applications.
More than 1000 affiliated football clubs are now eligible for more than $2.3 million. Applications close March 2, 2018. Visit sport.nsw.gov.au/clubs/grants.
Supporting People Living with a Disability
Last week the NSW Government announced Jobs for people with disability: A plan for the NSW public Sector.
This plan that aims to double the number of people with disability working in the public sector. Equal employment opportunities have always been a key priority for the NSW Government.
There are a number of ways the public sector can embrace the plan, such as delivering more internships and graduate roles for people with disability, and ensuring accessibility is front of mind in the design and fit out of new or refurbished workplaces.
There are significantly fewer people with disability working in the public sector than in the private sector. That’s why the NSW Government is taking action to promote diversity and inclusion in the workforce to reflect the society we represent.

Country road funding
Sixty-seven projects across regional NSW have been approved for funding in the third round of the NSW Government’s Fixing Country Roads program. The successful projects, worth $92 million, include upgrades to roads, bridges and truck washes and bring the NSW Government’s current spending under the Fixing Country Roads program to almost $247 million.
Thet Dubbo Regional Council will receive $819,467 from the NSW Government under this program to fund the $1.2M Dubbo Regional Livestock Markets truck wash project. Mr Grant said this investment would significantly reduce costs to business and industry.
