Binjang community radio and the Wellington Men’s Shed have installed a post box for letters to Santa at the community Christmas tree at the Visitor Information Centre in Cameron Park.
The groups jumped on board the Christmas spirit by providing the letter box for Santa to receive written requests from boys and girls across the Wellington region wishing for those special presents this Christmas Day.
Binjang chairman, Mark Griggs, said the radio station will broadcast a letter each morning before the 7am news and a lucky letter-writer will be drawn from the post box on Christmas Eve to win a special Binjang Christmas prize.
Letters must be labelled with a name, address and contact phone number which will be kept confidential.
Mr Griggs encourages children in the Wellington region to get their pens to paper so their letters can be delivered on time.
