St Mary’s Catholic School provides an education of a high quality in a single stream school environment. Breadth of curriculum, quality learning experiences and involvement in a wide variety of sporting and extra curricula activities are experienced in the atmosphere of a Catholic faith culture.
The faith life of the school is fundamental in fostering caring relationships within the school. Students appreciate prayer, Religious Education classes, retreats and masses as a part of the commitment to the development of all aspects of their lives.
The Primary Curriculum is characterised by a balance between Contemporary Learning and an emphasis on the basics of Numeracy and Literacy.
This year, the school has concentrated on personalised learning for all students. For Numeracy and Literacy students are places in flexible learning groups to suit their learning needs. The 2017 NAPLAN tests had in all literacy areas in Y3 and Y5 were above state average and student growth in Y7 and Y9 were constantly positive and above state average.

The Secondary section of the school provides a breadth of experiences for students. Electives are varied and change each year to reflect the needs of that particular cohort.
Students are able to represent the school in a wide range of sports and extra curricula activities include: eisteddfod performances; gifted and talented programs; chess; Mock Trial; Science and Engineering Challenge; Touch Football; Chess; and a Vegetable and Bush Tucker garden.
A strong community spirit and engagement with the local community is a core aspect of the school’s culture. This year, Sorry Day and NAIDOC were again highlights of the school celebrations.
