Their goal is to bring together the various Martial Arts operating in and for Wellington.
Ron Goninan said the aim is to actively promote local martial artists as long as they are truly local.
“We want to try and support each other and the events held in town.
“One way of doing this is to raise money for local charities via Martial Arts events.
“If any local groups are interested, please contact us as we’d be happy to do our bit and support local events and charities,” he said.
Phillip Bennett said it is time locals supported locals.
“Wellington is a great town with great opportunities but we have to work together,” he said.
Goninan and Bennett hope to bring important events to town.
“Competitions, tournaments, exhibitions, practical martial arts workshops are just some of the things we hope to bring to Wellington in the near future.
“I’m hard at work on a very special local initiative to shine a light on Domestic and Family violence that effects women, men and children as one of the many future events planned for Wellington and its martial arts community,” Goninan said.
