Business Chamber president Barry Jeffery said celebration planning began before Christmas.
"Basically we’re asking businesses in town to use the theme of 200 years old,” he said
Mr Jeffery said no prizes are involved, but it will be a way to get the business noticed and show your town pride.
Marie Cornish from the Bicentenary Committee said the Dubbo Regional Council is hosting a Wellington Boot shopfront contest, so it would be good to keep celebrations ongoing.
Mr Jeffery said while there is no time limit on when to put up or take down decorations, it would be best if the businesses could do their window as soon as possible.
“They can leave it decorated all year if they wish or even change the decorations through out the year, it is entirely up to the businesses,” Mr Jeffery said.
