After searching through the night with a helicopter carrying heat-sensitive equipment, police and State Emergency Services workers located the body shortly after 8.15am on the Sunshine Coast.
The body was found at the base of southern face of Mt Coolum and police believe the 66-year-old may have fallen after walking to the top of the 208-metre summit.
Mr Osborn was last seen on top of Mt Coolum around 10am on Saturday and his partner had contacted police and reported him missing.
