The Wellington man and the product development team from Dubbo’s Early Rise Bakery have been given top marks by the ultimate taste testers, passengers.
“It’s been a tremendous success. The lemon myrtle is averaging 12 emails a day from people flying on Qantas and people are asking where they can they purchase it,’’ he said.
Mr Smith and the Early Rise team are now producing a new bush tucker meal: “The Bush Plum Crumble”, which is totally indigenous as well..”’The slices are top quality products. I need to look at a distribution chain, distribution centres which can purchase our products in the future.’’
The Bush Plum Crumble will be on Qantas planes by October. Mr Smith is now the centre of a television show hosted by Indigenious activist Stan Grant on NITV.
The TV channel is focusing on the success of the totally indigenious product from Western NSW and the partnership between Mr Smith and Qantas.
‘’We have talked about the whole production of our recipes and how this is all done in the area promoting Western NSW and Wellington.’’ he said.
‘’I have just finishing savoury products coming out soon.’’
