Just before 6.30am Saturday  emergency services were called to Mercadool Lane, Bogan Gate, after a white Mitsubishi Triton utility was found crashed into a tree.

Initial investigations suggest that sometime between 10pm on Friday 29 April and 6.30am the following day, the vehicle left the roadway and crashed; the 44-year-old male driver died at the scene.

A crime scene was established at the scene and officers from Lachlan Local Area Command will be preparing a report for the information of the Coroner.
