"I said what the **** are you doing here? And next thing, bang, bang, bang," Man bashed on the floor in his own home

Ron Pettett is visually impaired and can not identify his attacker, but he believes it was a male in his late 20s to early 30s.

"I'd just finished watching the cricket and went to bed," he said.

"Then I heard a big bang and realised someone had just kicked the door in."

Mr Pettett came out of his room to investigate and could see someone attempting to steal his television.

"I said what the **** are you doing here? And next thing, bang, bang, bang," he said.

"He laid into me."

There is still blood throughout the house and on the carpet where Mr Pettett was beaten on the floor of his hallway.

He managed to walk across the road to a neighbour who called the police and an ambulance.

He was then taken to hospital and received treatment for suspected internal bleeding as well as a bruised and cut cheek.

"My kidneys are sore and they x-rayed my shoulder where they thought it might have been fractured," he said.

Previous burglaries had occurred while Mr Pettett was at work and he put up chicken wire to keep people from climbing through his window.

It is the third television that has been stolen from Mr Pettett's house and this time the attacker also stole his phone.

Mr Pettett said he was sick of the constant crime and did not know what to do anymore.
