Forbes hoop Katherine Newcombe opened the day with a strong ride on Lake Lurgano which started at $3 favourite in the Barnson 2YO and 3YO Maiden Plate (900m), then Leanne Henry rode Landuar to an impressive victory by 3.8 lengths at $11 for Gulgong’s Brett Thompson making up for the disappointment of withdrawing Slate On Edge from a Rosehill engagement the same day.
Sward($5.50) made it three for the ladies when the 7 year old bay gelding won the Wellington Motor Inn Maiden Handicap (1100m). The Cowra trained galloper was too good for Eleanor Webster- Hawes.
The Jared Wykes Electrical Maiden Handicap (1100m) gave the mother and daughter combination of Sharon and Tiffany Jeffries the money. Rehanaat ($7.50) was the victor.

It was up to who else but Greg Ryan to upset the girls, steering All For Kicks ($4.40) for Dubbo trainer Garry Lunn, Leanne Henry was second.in the Joss Group Benchmark Handicap.

The champion hoop was at it again in the Allendale Merino Stud Benchmark 60 Handicap Ryan superb aboard Hollywood Nell. Greg Ryan pushed the five year old brown mare across the track to fight off a fast finishing grey Fluctuations.
The margin was just a nose by race end. Hollywood Nell the favourite with punters ($3.40).
In the Federal Hotel Benchmark Handicap (1100m) One Last Poet ($3.20) went out favourite for Brett Thompson but it was another winner for a Bathurst. Trainer Paul Theobald capturing the honours with Dunderry ($5).
Baites ($21) took out the last race of the day for Turkish born hoop Rasit Yetimova. The young man has only recently moved to Dubbo and he gave bookmakers and his connections plenty of joy.
