Earlier the Redfern All Blacks downed Kempsey to win the women's grand final.
Nanima Connection’s women’s side crashed out of the NSW Aboriginal Knockout in the semi finals outplayed by the Redfern All Blacks 54-0 wo later would win the competition.
Their amazing run came to end in a steaming hot encounter where getting any football was difficult, matter of fact Nanima only had their hands on the football for three or four occassions.
Redfern were on the board after 2 minutes and after 8 were 18-nil in front.
The All Blacks exposing Nanimas defence on the right and then left leading 34-0 at the break.
The Nanima connection did hit hard a few times and this forced errors but the second half began as the first, Redfern’s Nakia Welsh, Kirra Doyle and Jasmin Allende cutting through on several occasions.
The All Blacks were ahead 44-nil after Brittany Baxter and Rhianna Sutherland went close for Nanima as the Wellington side put on some concerted pressure but in the end it was an easy win to the Redfern All Blacks.
Nanima had ended the weekend with a brilliant record making the semi finals of a state wide knockout, a remarkable achievement for a small town team.
Redfern also won the men's grand final 36-32 in golden point extra time.
