Ms Adams delivered a high energy performance of Beyonce's Work It Out and swayed three of the judges - Jessie J, Delta Goodrem and the Madden brothers - to turn their chairs for her.

And even better was to come when Delta and Jessie J joined her on stage for an impromptu encore that had the packed crowd dancing in the aisles.

When it came time to select a judge to guide her through the next stage of the competition, Ms Adams admitted she faced a difficult choice.

"I'm absolutely humbled and grateful that I got three - sorry, four - to turn around so thank you very much for that," she said.

"I'm going to go with Jessie J."
