Students from St Mary's Catholic School, were among the emerging generation of leaders to take part in The National Young Leaders Day at the Qantas Credit Union Arena on March 23.

The event, attracted 6000 students along with their teachersand principals from primary schools across the state, is hosted by the Halogen Foundation whose mission is to inspire and empower young people to lead themselves and others well.
Influential people who shared their story and leadership insights in the program include Premier Mike Baird, Bindi Irwin and paper plane pilots Dylan Parker and James Norton.
"The focus of the event, is on the significance of gettingstarted," executive director of the Halogen Foundation, Mike Martin, said.
"By asking a range of accomplished people what it takes to turn ideas into something real, students will be able to obtain some invaluable insights on how they can start leadingin their school and community.
"Good leadership can be a moving target for today's young people, and it moves with all the speed of changes in technology and society as a whole.
"We value real examples of leaders who deliver positive outcomes for the people around them. It is their stories that we continually strive to exposeyoung people to each year."
The National Young Leaders day event series for primary students takes place annually across Australia, with more than 14,000 students participating.
