At times eight-year-old mare Misblueblud must have frustrated local trainer Jim McMillan, recording 12 placings and just one win. But on Saturday the Carry The Crown galloper staved off some tough opposition in the Class 1 Handicap (900m) to pull through by a length.

The helter-skelter journey split the field in the straight and jockey Anthony Cavallo got the best out of Misblueblud ($8.80) to win by a length from the favourite Burbie ($2.80) with Monarchy $4.80) third.
In the ring punters could have grabbed $12 or more for Misblueblud.
The Neil Veech Memorial Plate (1700m) went to Devil In A Dress local owner David Baxter of Macquarie Stud.
He shares the horse with another big racing name, Nick Moraitis, who has had some of the best names in the sport including the great Might and Power.
Devil In A Dress ($4.80) was nicely ridden by Ken Dunbar for Orange trainer Jeff Brasch.
He slipped the horse in a good position behind Youknowwotsisname and in the straight got away from Exciting Lad ($12) and Dane's Rocket ($10) to win.
Dunbar said he let the four-year-old mare roll easily and when he gave Devil In A Dress her head she impressed.
The Notts Rural and Domestic Benchmark Handicap went to Gulgong's Gayna Williams with six-year-old gelding Jellybean Jack ($8).
Anthony Cavallo captured a double with the horse's two-length win over Strong ($4) and the fast-finishing Louis The Tonne ($26).
"He likes the Wellington track, that's why we brought him here," Williams said.
"He has put in some pretty ordinary efforts at times but today he was good and full credit to track rider Catherine Bell and jockey Anthony Cavallo.
"I do also thank the Wellington Race Club for letting me use the track often to train my horses here including this bloke."
Greg Ryan again featured in the winner's circle after grabbing a double with Just Danish ($3.80) and Burrenjunction Spy ($4).
