Senior Citizens came in numbers to take on a falls prevention course called Stepping On organised by NSW Community and Allied Health at the Seniors Citizen.

"You should be aware and have knowledge of conditions when you walk and we have a number of topics we discuss in the program which help with these matters," a spokesperson for the group said.
"Exercise can help prevent falls. It can be about getting strength and balance about you. A simple exercise in your chair like sitting then standing and sitting back down again can be a simple way of helping you prevent a fall."
One senior explained knowing where you going can be important.
"Walk to the edge of a curve and check the depth, sometimes this can prevent an unnecessary fall. You have to walk with your feet," she said.
The Community Allied and Health crew is promoting the event to the community each Friday at 10.30am, all are welcome from seniors to those with disabilities.
