Bev Hutchinson must be doing something right at her Macquarie park home garden she has been named the Champion gardener for consecutive occasions in the Wellington Times Rotary Garden Competition.

''It doesn't look too bad now really'' Mrs Hutchinson said humbly '' There are nice flowers and plants, they are well laid out''
When pressed to explain why two separate judges would say her country garden about twenty minutes from Wellington had beaten a hot competition for the best country and champion garden she said '' Many of the flowers and plants now prosper all year round. Rotary do a lot of great and I only entered to support the community'' Mrs Hutchinson said.
Other winners were : Non residental Wellington High school, Prettiest bed Alice Mitchell, Best herb garden Nyassa Holmes, undercover verendah Violet Lousick, Waterwise Barry Dickerson, Rose and Best Town Garden - Alice and Chris Deloitz, Geurie.
Meanwhile a vacant house caught alight in Pierce St on Sunday morning between 3.30 and 4am. Police are investigating. Also online pictures of the Times Rotary Garden Competition winners, Nanima Clean Up day,Burrendong 50 celebrations and other weekend activities.,
