"As a Red Cross member I believe one of our most important responsibilities is the protection of our emblem. The Red Cross is the universal emblem of protection, especially in war zones," Mrs Bullock said.
"Respected and trusted by all. It literally saves lives. If we were allowed to be compromised and corrupted the world would be a much poorer place."
Bev Hutchinson who served as president for three years said she was proud to serve Wellington.
"So much so we won the Margaret Waddell Achievement Cup for our fundraising and community service," Mrs Hutchinson said.
Margaret Mccarthur says dedication is an important part of the service she has been a pleasure to be part of, while Eve Kiss who served as president in 2003 through 2005 said she was very proud to be together with the dedicated women have served Red Cross so far.
