The morning began with sunshine but soon disappeared into clouds and cool weather plus an initial sprinkle as warmups commenced.

Numbers were slightly down as some parents obviously thought it would be off (please see below wet weather details).
Our teams have now been named using the state and national team names ,which hopefully many of the girls watch to see how netball is played at the top level competitions.
Seniors-
Niamh’s team will be known as the Mystics and Gabby’s as the Thunderbirds, with the Thunderbirds taking this week’s honours 21 to 8.
These girls are starting to get used to the various positional play that is best suited to each particular player plus had their first fitness session with Brett last week.
Junior teams-
Team 1 – Swifts (Lizzie Eather and team mates), Team 2 – Diamonds (Lucy Thompson and team mates),
Team 3 – Hurricanes (Heidi Parkes and team mates) and Team 4 – Firebirds (Bianca Douglas and team mates).
The junior games are seeing some great improvements by all players and this week’s thanks go to Nigel, Karen, Faith and Ella for filling in when needed.
Swifts and Hurricanes had a very low scoring game with 3 goals to 4 while Firebirds 11 were slightly better this week over Diamonds.
Fun Nett/Netta Group
Kathryn and Jo, with their great support crew, are having a “wow” of time with these little ones. This week’s activities were learning how to chest pass and catch, onto a catching rebound net, shooting goals and, thanks to the Smith Family’s AFL Banner, were doing chest passes and throws through the hole.
8.45am arrival
As mentioned every week, please be at the courts by 8.45am. Setting up shouldn’t be left to the same group of people. A huge thank you to those that are always assisting.
Please note- some Committee members are away this Saturday, so everyone please get in and help to cover without being asked.
This will include umpiring, scoring, drills, canteen and time keeping.
Of concern
A practise creeping in the last couple of weeks - Parents ducking away for a short time.
If this is necessary or cannot be avoided, please advise the canteen or team managers.
Netball tries to finish by about 10.30am, with everything packed up and away by 11am so everyone can get to soccer for early games and so on and our Fun Net/Netta group is finished by 10am.
Carnivals
If interested, contact Loren on 0467 895 030.
For Parkes Carnival, Sunday June 17, names need to be into Loren by Saturday. We are hopeful that we can get some more names to have enough players for three teams.
Cumnock “Primary Age” Netball/Soccer, Sunday June 24, names also need to be in on Saturday. This carnival is run by Cumnock P & C as one of their community major fundraisers and is very popular for Netta Age and up to participate. We suggest you choose between Netball and Soccer as your games can be drawn to be played at the same time.
Wet weather
A check is done by 7.30am and, if too wet, netball will be called off for the morning.
Please listen to Radio 2DU and Binjang 91.5 or check the Wellington Netball Facebook site.
Those living out of town who cannot receive the radio or others should please contact a member of the committee.
If there is only drizzle or light sprinkles after we have started, netball will be proceed until deemed to be unsafe.
So if in doubt turn up or contact a member of committee – don’t just assume it is not on.
Please note Saturday June 9, the Queen’s Birthday Long Weekend, there will be NO Netball.
