The outbreak is significant enough to have prompted Dubbo Regional Council to postpone the opening of the local pool, which was to be Tuesday, September 28.
The decision was made after a community meeting on Monday morning with representatives from Western NSW Health and Orana police, Wellington Aboriginal Health, Koori COVID circle and other stakeholders.
In a statement, council said; "This decision to delay the opening was made due to significant concerns about the rising number of positive COVID-19 cases in the Wellington community over recent days.

"The decision will be reviewed daily, with the community's safety as the highest priority. We apologise for any inconvenience this may have caused and we will continue to work with stakeholders to ensure they are informed."
The planned reopening of Dubbo Aquatic Leisure Centre will go ahead on Tuesday.
Of the 24 COVID cases announced on Monday for the Western NSW LHD, five were in Dubbo and one was in Narromine, but that one was not infectious while in the community. However nine cases were known to be infectious.
The Western LHD Chief Executive Scott McLachlan told media on Monday they were focusing a lot of resources to Wellington.
"There's been transmission between households where we know people are supposed to have been in isolation," Mr McLachlan said. "There's a lot of support going into Wellington at the moment from our Aboriginal Health workers, from mobile testing teams to in-home wellbeing support helping people to stay in their houses with food and other supplies to help people stay in isolation."
In some positive news, there have been no additional cases at St Mary's Villa or at Holy Spirit aged care in Dubbo.
"We've declared the outbreak in Holy Spirit to be over, we've not got the vast majority of those residents have now recovered from their COVID infection and we haven't had COVID infections for at least a week now."
There are now 14 people in hospital including nine in Dubbo, four of those are in ICU and three are ventilated.
Wellington residents can get tested at Kennard Park between 10am and 4pm this week.
