The Orange show has been forced to move its expected 2021 dates a second time as the show calendar for next year becomes more and more crowded.
The Royal Bathurst Show this week announced it would be moving its dates to April 30 to May 2 due to changes to the Royal Sydney show.
The changed dates clashed with Orange's proposed dates of May 1-2, leaving Orange Show Society president Peter Naylor no choice but to move the Orange show - leading to yet more clashes.
Mr Naylor said "at this stage" the Orange show would be moved to April 24-25, which would clash with the Wellington Show.
"It makes it really hard ... there's so much on," Mr Naylor said.
"We won't know what we're going to do. [Clashing with] Wellington's the only way to do it. Dubbo's a week before Wellington and they won't move."
Nearly all shows across NSW were cancelled in 2020 due to coronavirus restrictions.
Mr Naylor said there was plenty of water still to go under the bridge before the show could be confirmed.
"At this stage we'll move it back a week and split the weekend with Wellington," he said.
"Wellington and Orange have been trying to work together to do what we can, but there's no way through, we can't do anything else.
"Let's see what happens. I hope and pray we don't have to deal with this virus next year."
Earlier this week, the 152nd Royal Bathurst Show show was confirmed for April 30 to May 2, two weeks later than the original dates confirmed two years ago.
This year was the first time it had been cancelled since World War II.
Bathurst A, H and P executive secretary Brett Kenworthy said the show was moved ahead to lessen clashes with similar events across the state.
"Our event always runs as the first agricultural show after the Sydney Royal Easter Show on the Western NSW autumn run," he said.
"Because the Royal Agricultural Society of NSW decided to move the Sydney show forward a week [April 1 to 12], we've moved our show ahead to maintain a consistent schedule for travelling exhibitors and ride operators."
Mr Kenworthy said the show weekend, in normal times, is usually easy to predict on the basis of the Sydney show dates, as well as where Easter falls each year.
The Dubbo Show is expected to be held from Friday, May 14 though to Sunday, May 16.
