Penrith coach Ivan Cleary can see Brent Naden getting more play time after the Wellington junior made a strong return to the starting lineup on Thursday night.

Naden started the season in the centres for the Panthers but coming out of lockdown Cleary has opeted to start boom rookie Stephen Crichton in his place.

But with Josh Mansour being rested due to a problematic knee Naden got his chance on the wing and made it count in the 20-12 win over South Sydney.

The Wellington junior was strong throughout the game, scoring his side's first try while he continually helped get his side out of its own end.

"We have spoken about how we are going to possibly rotate and get these guys playing some footy," Cleary said after the match.

"It was great to see Brent Naden do the job tonight. Hopefully that will happen again down the track."

Matt Burton featured off the bench in the final minutes.
