A large crowd gathered at Cameron Park to commemorate the fallen on Anzac Day in 2016.
Wellington RSL sub branch president Peter Dowell told the crowd that 173 names are inscribed on the Wellington cenotaph.
RSL Committeeman Rod Althofer was choked up on the day to see so many people at Cameron park to remember the fallen.
He remembered those who had sacrificed their lives during the battles at Fromelle where many unknown graves still remain.
