Thanks to the efforts of the Wellington Arts committee, the Second Chance Sale, is selling a range of items including clothes, art, furniture, hand-made items and more.

The market commenced on Monday and will run until January 15.

Wellington Arts president Lisa Thomas told the Wellington Times on the first day that they had a good flow of people come in that morning.

"It's been fantastic, with lots of travellers passing through," she said.

This was the first time that the committee have held the market so Ms Thomas was pleased to see over one hundred people come through the doors during the first day.

The market is being held from 10am to 4pm each day.

While browsing for a bargain, locals and visitors are also encouraged to check out the range of books available for a gold coin donation.

Chris Hardy from the local Lions Club is helping to sell the thousands of pre-loved books, which have all been donated.

Money raised from the book sale will go directly to the Lions Club national appeal for disaster relief, which supports drought and bushfires.

The local Lions Club are hoping for a successful result, with Ms Hardy saying any donation helps.

They plan to hold another, gigantic, book fair on February 29th , which will coincide with the Wellington Vintage Fair Street Parade.
