The newly elected chairperson for the Wellington Business Chamber is excited about the town's economic future, adding that the new board will bring fresh eyes in helping to grow local business.

The Wellington Business Chamber held its Annual General Meeting on December 12, with former secretary Jess Gough being named as the new chairperson.
With the new year just around the corner, Ms Gough has some big plans ahead for 2020.
"I'd like to focus on obtaining grants to get the Chamber moving a bit more, with a lot more business-orientated workshops for members," she explained.
Vivienne Wellington is the Chamber's new secretary and Ms Gough said they plan to hold monthly meetings on certain dates throughout the new year.

As well as Mrs Wellington on the board, Pippa Conn is the treasurer and Mandy Ogden assistant treasurer. Board members include Tracey Hansen, Mike Herbert, Lisa Thomas, Adam Janis and Peta Glover.
The Wellington Business Chamber chairperson is excited to have the new board and board members, saying she believes they will bring fresh ideas.
"I'm really looking forward to working closely with everyone and to help make the Wellington business sector grow," Ms Gough said.
So far this year Wellington businesses have seen a huge economic growth thanks to campaign's such as 'Buy Locale, or Bye Local', with Ms Gough hoping for similar initiatives to continue in 2020 in partnership with the Dubbo Regional Council and the Wellington Business Chamber.

The aim of the Buy Local campaign was to encourage more people to shop in Wellington.
"That worked really well because it was specifically for Wellington," Ms Gough explained.
"That generate just under $400,000 in the six weeks."
"An I'm all for Buy Regional this Christmas which was backed by the NSW Government."

Ms Gough thanked outgoing chairperson Barry Jeffery for all of his time that he gave to the Wellington community.
"And good luck with all of his future endeavours," she added.
