A man has been charged following an investigation into the theft of firearms and a motorbike from a shed Wellington in October.

Sometime between September 20 and October 1, unknown persons gained entry to the rear shed of a home on Simpson Street and stole multiple items, including firearms, ammunition and a motorbike.
Officers attached to Orana Mid Western Police District attended and commenced an investigation.
Following inquiries, police attended a home on Elizabeth Street at Wellington about 4.30pm on October, 1, where it is alleged four firearms were located and seized.

On Monday, 9, officers attended a correctional centre in Wellington where they arrested a 20-year-old man in relation to the offence.
He was taken to Wellington Police Station and charged with aggravated break and enter, and possess unauthorised firearm.
He was bail refused to appear before Wellington Local Court on Tuesday, December 17.
Investigations continue.
