The Geurie Lions Club will host a market day on Saturday, November 30, with more than 70 stall holders in attendance. The markets are at Wise Park and will run from 8am until 1:30pm. There will certainly be something for everyone including craft, cakes, coffee, antiques, jewellery and much more. Geurie Lions Markets are held on the fifth Saturday of every month. - Young filmmakers boot camp:
Narromine, November 30
This one-day workshop at the Narromine Library will guide young filmmakers to use easily accessible equipment to create a short one to three minute film from script to screen. This workshop has been designed for ages 12 to 18. $10 per person. Bookings required. Contact the Narromine Library on 6889 1088.
- The Chocolate Factory:
Dubbo, November 30
This weekend the Orana Dance Centre will bring together the many favourite scenes and songs from the 1971 film 'Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory' and the 2005 movie 'Charlie and the Chocolate Factory' for a spectacular show at the Dubbo Regional Theatre and Convention Centre.
- Christmas party:
Collie, December 1
The Collie CWA Evening Branch are hosting a Collie Christmas Party on Sunday, December 1. This is a free event for adults and children from 4pm until 7pm. There will be a grazing table and light dinner provided. Guests are asked to bring your own drinks and a Santa gift for each of your children (under $10). There will be a lucky door prize for adults and kids, plus a raffle on the day. The event has been made possible through support from the DPI Rural Resilience Program. - Twilight Handmade Art Markets:
Dubbo, November 30
Talk to regional artists and artisans, as you explore art, craft, food and music at Dubbo's much-loved markets. From 4pm to 7pm visitors can learn the passion that drives stall holders to produce and sample some of the best home-grown and homemade foods the region has to offer. The markets will be held at the Western Plains Cultural Centre.
Community fundraiser:
Wellington, November 30
Hermitage Hill is hosting a special fundraiser for the Stepping Out Support Program. All funds raised will go towards helping disadvantaged Cambodian youth. Catch up with friends as you support those in need. Tickets are $80 pp and includes a welcome drink, grazing platter, buffet dinner and entertainment.
