Black is one of just two Western players selected in the squad - the other being Aimee Longhurst - and the only Bathurst representative.
However, she's been living in Bathurst for just under a year after her family made the move from Wellington, to be closer to her school at MacKillop College.
While she said she was "pretty surprised" to be selected, she's already picked up a handy resume, having won back-to-back PSSA State Championships for Wellington Public School in 2017 and 2018 and represented Western Zone at the Sydney Thunder Girls State Challenge earlier this year.
The all-rounder started playing cricket when she was seven-years-old.
"My teacher at school said, 'Your sister used to play cricket, why don't you?'" she said.
"She took me to a carnival through school and I started playing from there."
ALSO MAKING NEWS:
Black usually bats around the top order to upper middle order, but understands she might be playing further down the order.
"Being the 15s I'm not quite sure what or where I'll be batting," she said.
A regular for Bathurst Bushrangers under 13s side, Black has also played senior cricket in Presidents Cup, hitting 16 and 17 in the first and second innings respectively in round one.
The national championships will run from late February to early March at Canberra.
The ACT/NSW Country side is a completely new squad to the one that made the final last season, with ACT Southern Districts player Grace Lyons to captain the team.
Riverina is the biggest region represented with four players - Rosie Blain, Alice Caldow, Charlie Lamont and Kaitlin Logan.
The state will also be represented by another team - NSW Metro - with the two teams to go up against teams from all the other states and territories in Australia.
